United Way

Focus on Our Future, sponsored by the United Way, is a county-wide, child care initiative created to enhance the quality of early childhood education in our community. YDN has benefited from Focus through trainings, technical assistance, and quality enhancement dollars.

The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Project was developed to upgrade the level of education of early childhood professionals while making the educational process affordable, increasing wages and reducing turnover. At YDN, 2 teachers have participated in this Associate Degree program since it began in 1998.

Martin Library provides weekly story times and also lends books to YDN classrooms.

The York Day Nursery Early Learning Endowment Fund is a York County Community Foundation initiative that has enabled YDN to establish an endowment dedicated to child care scholarships and program quality improvements.

Pennsylvania Council of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of York County help the YDN participate in a yearly two week Artist in the Residence Program.
